What to wear?
These are rules I don’t think have to be followed for any photo/video session. But I have noticed these to work the best!
Neutrals - jeans, browns, creams, whites
Solid or very minimal patterns
It’s always fun to bring a sweater or jacket as layers to get variety of shots
If we are shooting in a location that involves hiking, bring a change of shoes you are willing to get dirty
Makeup - if you are planning to wear makeup, I always suggest wearing a bit more than you normally would since cameras tend to make it look like you are wearing less than in person.
Consider what kind of poses you want to do. If they involve lots of movement, then you may want to consider wearing something like pants or a more flowy dress to move in.
Posing and Confidence
If this is your first time doing a professional photo or video shoot or it has been a while, don’t worry; I have plenty of experience capturing the best angles and poses that will compliment you the most! It is always good to be aware of how you look on camera before a session so you have an idea of what you think is your “good side” or the type of angles you think you are most comfortable with. I suggest that my clients film themselves just normally moving around to see what their posture may look like and which side profile they may prefer. During a session, I make sure to show you how the photos are looking on camera so we can make any changes during the session that are necessary. Lastly, remember to have confidence! This session is for you, and I couldn’t be more excited to capture you. Own it!
Wedding Day
There are a couple things I suggest my brides do before and on their wedding day pertaining to photo or video. I offer a free 30-minute consultation before your big day to discuss the wedding day schedule, what you may want captured, and anything else that we need to discuss to make sure we get what you want. Some things to think about:
Are there little moments throughout the day that I want captured that my photographer or videographer needs to know about?
Did I specifically plan time in the wedding schedule to get couple portraits to add more content to the album or film?
When is the best time of day for lighting?
Does timing my ceremony or sealing matter to me to get the best lighting for photos/video?
